Stubbs, Royals roll past Coon Rapids

COON RAPIDS — Matt Stubbs banged out four hits and the Rochester Royals powered to a 10-3 amateur baseball win over Coon Rapids on Sunday.

The Royals also got seven strong innings of pitching from Brad Pfeffer, while they had just one error all game.

Offensively, Rochester cranked out 15 hits.

"We played some good baseball today," Royals manager Kevin Ness said. "Top to bottom, we hit the ball well, and defensively we were solid. Brad Pfeffer gave us seven strong innings, a little more than we we expected, so that is always a bonus."

Stubbs went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs. Dave Rojo and Brian Ness each drove in two runs, and Jordan Martini tripled in the sixth inning.
