Red Wing 2, John Marshall 1

RED WING -- Red Wing scored two goals in the first half and held on for a 2-1 victory over John Marshall in Big Nine Conference play.

Sammi Chandler and Camille DeSutter scored goals for the Wingers and Tori Senty had seven saves in goal.

Brinn Kelley scored for JM in the second half while Jordan Clark made 15 saves in goal for the Rockets.

It was a very hard fought game," JM coach Brian Dahl said. "We had several chances and came up short."

Lourdes 3, Stewartville 2, OT

STEWARTVILLE — Lourdes converted on some long shots and slid past Stewartville 3-2 in overtime in a hotly contested Hiawatha Valley League game.

Amelia Gossman, Becca Cook and Ella Shedivy each had a goal for the Eagles, who moved to 8-1 overall.

“Both teams had great chances but the long shot prevailed for us tonight,” Lourdes coach Sarah Groven said. “This was a great matchup for us; Stewartville is strong and they didn’t back down. They weren’t afraid to challenge our players and they were strong in the middle. We were able to sink the long shots tonight and that was the difference.”

Goalie Addison Lange had eight saves.

Violet Nelson and Ella Quam each had a goal for Stewartville and Gabrielle Torres assisted on both. Tigers goal Claire Olson had a whopping 19 saves.
