2019 season: No state qualifiers, but 4x400 relay team was third in Section 1A meet and 4x100 team fourth.

Coach Strickland says: “We are excited for the season to start. We will be really young with only two seniors returning, but we are getting strong leadership from them. Our numbers are a bit down, but we are encouraged with the new athletes that we have.”
Head coach: Donny Holcomb (21st season).
2019 season: 4x100 relay team set the school record. Cayden Holcomb was all-Big Nine Conference in 4x100 and 300 hurdles, and Israel Lozoya was all-conference in the 200.
Key athletes (2019 stats): Sr. Lance Pfrimmer (1,600, 3,200); Sr. Willie Roden (1,600, 3,200); Sr. DeMonte Simmons (100, 11.2); Jr. Noah Smith (200, 23.17); Jr. Cayden Holcomb (110 hurdles, 16.2; 300 hurdles, 42.7; pole vault, 12-6); Jr. Yaih Marial (high jump, 6-2).
Coach Holcomb says: “Really excited for the kids to be back on the track and see the growth they’ve made over a year off. We have a talented group of hard workers who will consistently improve and be competitive at each meet.”
Head coach: Kyle Riggott (2nd season).
2019 season: Century won its third straight Big Nine Conference championship. It set section records in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays and Century sent eight athletes to state in five events — the 200, 4x100, 4x200, 4x100 and long jump. The 4x100 team was second at state and the 4x400 sixth. Sam Amusan was second in the 200.
Key athletes (2019 stats): Sr. Isaiah Huber (100, 11.07 and Big Nine runner-up; 200, 22.61, fourth in Big Nine; 400, 52.99; long jump, 19-8); Sr. Jaecan Fratzke (100, 11.24; 200); Sr. Silas Green (400, 53.98; 800, 2:02.56); Sr. Seth Hill (1,600, 4:50.17; 3,200, 10:26.85); Sr. Will Morrissey (shot put; discus, 113-11).
Coach Riggott says: “The 2021 Century track team has a ton of potential. This is a very talented team led by a group of seniors who were very influential to our 2019 conference championship. Our sprint group is very fast, our distance runners are experienced, and our field-event athletes are very raw and explosive. We are looking to win another championship and send several athletes to the state meet. Above all, this is a team of incredible young men. They are selfless, loyal, committed and passionate about representing something bigger than themselves.”
ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL
Head coach: Mike Sonnabend (7th season).
2019 season: Meti Omod was a Big Nine Conference champion in the 800 and Simon Werven won the high jump. Werven was second in the high jump in the section meet and ninth at state. Michael Nicometo was sixth in the 400 in the Big Nine.

Coach Sonnabend says: “We only have five seniors, so this is the youngest team we’ve seen in a long time. There is a good base to work with, so development is our main goal this season. This season will be interesting, but it’s great to get out on the track again.”
