WINONA — Century took another step toward the Big Nine Conference volleyball crown with a swift road sweep over Winona on Thursday.
The Panthers won their 16th straight and improved to 18-1 overall and 8-0 in the conference with two matches left in the conference campaign. Winona is 8-7, 4-4 in the Big Nine.
"Tonight was not our best night," said Century coach Brittany Weidman. "Winona had a lot of great moments tonight; they showed up to play and we did not."
Senior middle hitter Anna Lund and senior outside hitter Hannah Weidman both had 10 kills for the Panthers.
"The things we normally excel at, serving and running a tough offense, we did not do well," Weidman added. "Fortunately the girls were able to pull it together and play better in that third game to solidify another conference win."
