Fillmore Central has qualified for the state Class A volleyball tournament for the first time in school history.
And if the seeds hold up, the Falcons will come home from St. Paul on Saturday with a state championship trophy in hand.
The 33-2 Falcons, who ended Faribault Bethlehem Academy's run of dominance in Saturday's Section 1A championship match, have earned the top seed in this week's state tournament. Fillmore Central will face Section 6A champion Ada-Borup (23-8) in a state quarterfinal match at 1 p.m. Thursday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
• In Class AA, Section 1 champion Kasson-Mantorville has earned the No. 2 seed after dominant playoff victories against Stewartville and Chatfield put the KoMets in the state tournament.
K-M (28-5) will face Maple Lake (24-8) at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday at the Xcel Center. Defending state champion Marshall (29-3) earned the top seed and will face Mora (27-4) at 5 p.m. Thursday in a state quarterfinal.

• Rochester Mayo did not earn a seed in the Class AAA state tournament. The Spartans (24-4) will face No. 2 seed Osseo (28-1) at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Xcel Center in a quarterfinal match.
Eagan (27-2) is the No. 1 seed.
