CHATFIELD -- In the final tune-up before conference play begins, the Mayo Spartans went on the road and had little trouble with Chatfield, notching a quick 3-0 win.
"We served well tonight and were able to turn the off-speed ball opportunities into good swings from the hitters," said head coach Deb Frederick.
The Spartans were led by Kate Holtan, who had 11 kills and five aces. Hallie Olson chipped in three aces, and Jade Boysen was tough at the net, recording five blocks.
Mayo (3-0) opens Big 9 Conference play Thursday at John Marshall.
