ROSEVILLE — The Rochester Century volleyball team opened its season Friday night with a 3-0 loss against Roseville Area.
Roseville won the non-conference match handily, 25-12, 25-13, 25-17.
It was the first match for Century's young new head coach Abby Barrone. She has coached Junior Olympic volleyball in the summer, but this is her first head coaching job.
"I was a little nervous at the start, but once the match began it was just like I was home again," Barrone said.
As far as her team's performance in the opener, Barrone said "it wasn't an impressive game at all." She said there were no standouts statistically for the Panthers.

Century's next match is a non-conference contest Thursday at Northfield.
