Rochester John Marshall pushed the top team in Class AA volleyball, but Stewartville was too much in the end.
Stewartville dropped the opening set, but rallied to win at John Marshall, 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.
"It was a great game by both teams," JM coach Jessica Stellmaker said. "Phenomenal defense on both sides of the court. Stewartville plays such a smart game. They know what to do with the ball."
Jenna Willenborg led Stewartville with 17 kills and two ace serves. Tara Rogers added 12 kills and 13 digs, while Marissa Behrens had 10 kills and 14 digs.
JM (6-6 overall) was paced by Nicole Fautsch, who had 12 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and two ace serves.

"It was a fun game," Stellmaker said. "We had our chances to put the game away with leads in both the second and third sets, but we made some mistakes and that's all it takes for a team like Stewartville to take over.
"We have been playing really well and now we need to turn the corner and learn how to finish in these tight games when we have the lead."
