Volleyball is back! Southeastern Minnesota is stockpiled with absolute studs. The season is right around the corner. Even though fans will not get to be in the stands, there's no doubt that there will be incredible matches all season long as the top talent dukes it out.
Here are 25 area volleyball stars to keep an eye on:
MH Erin Lamb, Stewartville, SR: Erin Lamb is a Class AA three-time first-team All-State selection. The Kentucky commit had 303 kills, 55 aces, 48 blocks and 260 digs last season. Lamb’s already eclipsed 1,000 career kills. Lamb is a monster and she’ll smoke missiles all season long.
S Kenidi McCabe, Mabel-Canton, SR: Kenidi McCabe is an elite setter and the reigning SEC Player of the Year. McCabe is a two-time Class A first-team All-State selection. McCabe has a school-record 2,917 assists to go along with 1,417 digs and 308 aces. Oh, and she hammered 195 kills last season.

S Jaidyn Brower, Stewartville, SR: Jaidyn Brower exploded for 64 assists against Concordia Academy last year in the state tournament which was essentially the same thing she did throughout her entire junior year. She finished with 1,033 assists in 2019 and was named all-Hiawatha Valley League for the second year in a row. Brower was also named Class AA second-team All-State.
MB Sacia Vanderpool, Byron, SR: Sacia Vanderpool erupted for 368 kills –– the third-highest season total in school history –– to go along with 79 blocks. Vanderpool was named all-HVL. The Wisconsin basketball commit is a beast on the volleyball court, too.
MB Mya Suess, Kasson-Mantorville, SR: Suess was uber-productive last season, totaling 166 kills and 71 blocks. She was named All-HVL and will lead the KoMets in 2020.
S Maddie Converse, Kasson-Mantorville, JR: 732 assists, 61 aces, 19 kills, 16 blocks and 127 digs. Yeah, Converse absolutely stuffed the stat sheet and was selected All-HVL by the coaches. She’s already totaled 1,549 career assists. She has a chance to put together some outstanding career totals.
OH Delaney Issendorf, Lake City, SR: Delaney Issendorf is running it back after breaking Lake City’s all-time kills record last year. She’s amassed 933 career kills and is a two-time All-HVL selection. She should crack 1,000 career kills even in a COVID-shortened season.
OH Olivia Pennington, Lake City, SR: Pennington and Issendorf are one of the best 1-2 punches in the area. Pennington crushed 239 kills last year to go along with 23 aces and 23 blocks. Pennington will try to finish her career as a two-time All-HVL selection.
S Chayse Paulson, John Marshall, SR: Chayse Paulson is one of the best –– if not the best –– players in the Big Nine. Paulson dished out 738 assists last year. Paulson has 131 career aces.
MH Lilly Meister, John Marshall JR: Meister led the entire state with 116 blocks. She had 14 stuffs against Mayo last season. The junior is due for a monster breakout junior year, and she's a heck of a hooper too.

S Rylee Nelson, Zumbrota-Mazeppa, SO: Nelson was named all-HVL as a freshman. That says a lot about a setter. Nelson is evolving into a budding star.
OH Makayla Bowen, Cannon Falls, SR: Bowen had 154 kills and 51 aces for Cannon Falls last season. The All-HVL selection will anchor the Cannon Falls lineup this fall.
S Jaci Winchell, Cannon Falls, JR: In just two years, Jaci Winchell has amassed 1,199 career assists. She was tremendous last year (826 assists, 35 aces, 214 digs and 24 blocks) and she could be even better in her junior season.
S/RH Madison Hindt, Grand Meadow, SR: Hindt was an all-around superstar for the Superlarks last year. In a team loaded with seniors, Hindt still stood out with 39 aces, 43 kills, 10 blocks, 276 assists and 126 digs.
S Abby Hinrichs, Plainview-Elgin-Millville, SR: As a junior, Hinrichs racked up 514 assists, 47 aces, 94 kills and 204 digs. Hinrichs is a stud for the Bulldogs.
S Hannah Gadient, Goodhue, SR: Gadient already has 1,000 career assists to her name, and it’s the senior setter’s last dance. She’ll look to elevate Goodhue to a breakout 2020 season.
MH Jolie Stecher, Stewartville, SR: Jolie Stecher is a Tigers star. Kaitlyn Prondzinski and Lily Welch are gone, so Stecher will have even more opportunities to rise to the occasion for Stewartville. Stecher was All-HVL last year and she’s got the inside track to do it again.
L KJ Corson, Fillmore Central, SR: The All-Three Rivers selection totaled 500 digs, 22 aces and 64 assists for Fillmore Central last season. She’s amassed more than 1,200 career digs. Fillmore Central was 10-2-2 in conference play last year thanks to Corson’s big-time play.
OH Sydney Taylor, Lanesboro, SR: The All-Southeast pick was tremendous for Lanesboro in 2019. Taylor tallied 62 aces and 298 kills for the Burros.
S Ella Cambern, Lanesboro, SR: Taylor and Cambern were both All-Southeast selections last season. Cambern is coming off an outstanding sophomore season where she had 262 digs, 37 aces and 569 assists.
S Kelli Hadaway, Winona Cotter, SR: Hadaway is a two-team All-Three Rivers choice. She’s got 1,000 career assists under her belt. She added 209 digs last season for Cotter.
OH Ellie Macal, Winona Cotter, SR: Ellie Macal smoked 231 kills and had 359 digs for Cotter last year on her way to being named All-Three Rivers.
MH Hannah Labonte, Lake City, SR: Labonte was a monster in the middle for the Tigers in 2019, and she’s back for more in 2020. She’ll be a key cog and have a chance to be one of the better players in the HVL.
S Elyse Dalager, Lake City, SR: Dalager has been named All-HVL honorable-mention the last two years. Dalager will have her full cast of weapons at the ready, and she’s primed for a big-time senior season.
MH Alyx Doughty, Plainview-Elgin-Millville, SR: Doughty is an all-around star. She was tremendous in the front line (173 kills, 44 blocks in 2019) and she was a dependable server, too, for the Bulldogs.
