Mayo 78, Faribault 44

Mayo had no trouble with strugging Faribault, winning 78-44 in the Big Nine Conference game.

Michael Sharp poured in 20 points and hit four 3-pointers along the way for Mayo, which moved to 4-6 in the Big Nine, 4-7 overall. Faribault is 1-8, 1-8.

Isaiah Hanson had 19 points and five rebounds for Mayo and Makuei Riek had 17 points and five rebounds.

The Spartans, who had nine players score, led 46-23 at intermission.

Winona 58, John Marshall 41

Winona grabbed a six-point halftime lead, then hung on to beat John Marshall 58-41 in Big Nine Conference action.

Jasper Hedin paced the Winhawks (6-5 Big Nine, 6-6 overall) with 22 points.

Ty Tuckner had 12 points for JM and Grant Klebig had 12 rebounds.

JM (2-7, 2-7) had trouble from the free throw line, where it connected on just 12 of 24 attempts.
