The Rochester Community and Technical College women's basketball team overpowered visiting Vermilion Community College 86-46 on Friday night at RCTC.
The Yellowjackets got off to a fast start, built a 21-point lead by halftime and cruised to their first win this season, after an 0-5 start.
"It was one of our better ball games," said RCTC head coach Steve Hucke. "We've still got some things to work on and clean up."
Nathalie Ratliff and Johanna Bungum scored 16 points each to power Rochester. Reed Klunder added 12 points, and Jessie Foster and Justine Gonzalez added eight points each.
Foster had seven rebounds, and Klunder and Gonzalez had six rebounds each as the Yellowjackets held a commanding 48-34 rebounding edge. Bungum had a team-high seven assists, and Foster had four steals.

Rochester made 10-of-31 three-pointers, which was more than Hucke was comfortable attempting, and the Yellowjackets shots 43 percent overall.
Rochester has a home game against Mesabi Range at 1 p.m. Saturday.
