THIEF RIVER FALLS — The Rochester Community and Technical College women's basketball team finished its season on a winning note Sunday by beating Northland Community College 60-57 in the state tournament third place game.
Freshman center Aly Meyer led Rochester with 21 points and five rebounds, and made 11 of 13 free throw attempts. Sophomore guard Brittni Mayer had 16 points and eight rebounds, and freshman Desirae Lee had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Yellowjackets, coached by Steve Hucke, won two of three games at the state tournament and finished the season with a 17-12 record.
There were three sophomores on the RCTC roster.
