The Rochester Community and Technical College softball team continues to roll through the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.
The Yellowjackets swept a doubleheader against visiting Ridgewater College on Friday, taking the opener 10-1 and the nightcap 5-4.
In the opener, RCTC pitcher DeAnna Mock allowed just one run on five hits in six innings of work. She walked two batters and struck out seven.
The Yellowjackets took the lead for good when they scored three runs in the third inning, followed by four in the fourth. They added three more in the sixth. Ridgewater scored its lone run in the fifth inning.
Caitlin Donahoe led RCTC, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, a double, a home run and five RBIs. Riley Hanson went 2-for-3, as did Kenzie Loewenhagen, who had one double. Katey Krohnberg was 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Rachel Lyke went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Mock came back and pitched RCTC (19-8 overall, 11-1 MCAC) to victory in game two. She went 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts. Erin Hain pitched 2 1/3 innings to close the game for the Yellowjackets.
Anna Ramboldt went 2-for-4 for RCTC with two RBIs and a double; Rachel Lyke was 2-for-4; and Amelia Jajowka had one run, a double and an RBI.
RCTC plays host to MSCTC-Fergus Falls today. The double header starts at noon.
"These were two big wins for us," RCTC assistant coach Shelley Boettcher said. "It was great to see the fight and determination we had to get these wins today. We need to keep us the intensity throughout the next couple weeks of the season."
