ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Stephen Arthur Thompson will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel, with the Rev. Gregory Heidorn of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson, 53, of Rochester, a dental technician, died of natural causes today (July 2, 2002) at his home.

Born July 20, 1948, in Wendell, Idaho, he attended school in California and Idaho, and in 1966 graduated from Blackfoot High School. He attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, took classes at Idaho State University in Pocatello and did an apprenticeship as a dental technician in Spokane, Wash. He started a dental lab in Pasco, Wash., and later lived in Denver before his work took him to Saudi Arabia. On Feb. 12, 1986, he married Miriam Taha in Saudi Arabia and they lived there until moving to Rochester in 1993.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Arthur Jr., Daniel, Sarah and Michael, all of Rochester; and a sister, Rosemary Thompson of Florence, Ore. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call an hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Rochester Central Lutheran School.
