Timothy L. "Tim" Eversman, 62, of Kellogg, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born May 8, 1949, in Wabasha, the son of Leo and Loretta (Klees) Eversman. He married Cynthia M. "Cindy" Searles on June 16, 1973, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in rural Kellogg.

After graduating from St. Felix High School in 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and served 22 years as a reservist. He attended Rochester Vocational and Technical Institute and received his LPN license. Over the years he worked several jobs, including working as an LPN at Rochester State Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home and Health Care Center in Wabasha.

Tim also worked as a DHIA supervisor, a feed salesman, a fuel truck driver, helped several local farmers with their crop farming, owned and operated The Apple House in Plainview, and drove school bus for many years. He was known to have several jobs at one time and never sit still!

His hobbies included camping, four-wheeling, cutting wood, fishing and hunting. Tim always had a story or joke to tell. He was an avid Twins fan and loved hanging out with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Tim was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg and the Plainview Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Elgin American Legion Post 573 and a retired member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Eversman, Kellogg; children and spouses, Jennifer and Theron Smyre, Loveland, Colo., William "Bill" and Carrie Eversman, Plainview, and Sara and Jeff Tentis, Kellogg; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Grace, Mallory, Derrick and Aiden; his dog, Mae; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Mullenbach, St. Ansgar, Iowa, Janice and Roger Wise, Wabasha, Marilyn and Tom Crowley, Kellogg, Jean and John Stopski, Prior Lake, Diane Hohberger, Rochester, and Denise and Mark Jacobs, Plainview; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Penny Eversman, Plainview, Don and Mary Eversman, Kellogg, Mike and Karen Eversman, Plainview, and Jim and Judy Eversman, Kellogg; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Eversman; and two brothers-in-law, Noel Hohberger and Duane "Snorky" Mullenbach.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at St. Agnes Church in Kellogg, with the Rev. Thomas Cook officiating. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery at Conception, in rural Kellogg. Urn bearer will be Len Laures. Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren. Military rites will be provided by the Elgin American Legion Post.

Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m., and at the church on Saturday one hour before the service.
