A lifelong Duluthian, Olsen studied communications and journalism at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he got his start at the student newspaper.

After admitting to the assaults of four women, Itasca County attorney Jesse Powell entered into a stipulation calling for his removal from the bar.
Patrick David Bullard, 49, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, was sentenced to a year in jail, but stayed the time for two years of supervised probation.
