A Celebration of Life service for Alec J. Bratvold, 43, of Rochester, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, Minn. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Alec passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019.
Alec was born on Oct. 23, 1975, in Rochester to Darrell and Ramona (Frost) Bratvold. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1994 and had a tight group of friends that remained close his entire life. Alec also met Lori Kelly in their high school Latin class, eventually crossing paths again while working at Mayo Clinic in 2003 and were later married Aug. 27, 2005. Alec was a very proud dad to 12-year-old Spencer and loved his time with him skateboarding, playing hockey and baseball, fishing, building things in the garage, and racing RC cars. Alec was a superb cook, had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished wood turner -- creating beautiful pieces of art sold in local art galleries.
Alec worked at Mayo Clinic in Media Support Services for more than 20 years. He will be missed by his colleagues and many that he helped with his technological expertise throughout Mayo Clinic.
In addition to Lori, Spencer and his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Eric (Deni) of Lake Elmo and Tina (Mark) Loechler of Theilman; and his nieces and nephews. Alec was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Elsie Bratvold and Clarence and Margaret Frost.
