Anne Marie Eastman, 78, of Rochester, passed away on July 9, 2019.

She was born in 1940 to the late Charles and Mabel Hayft in Rochester. A lifelong resident of Rochester, she graduated from Lourdes High School in 1958 and worked as a PBX telephone operator at Bell Telephone and IBM before her marriage. She married Gerald "Jerry" Eastman in 1963 at St. Francis of Assisi Church and they lived together in Rochester for 56 years.

A loving mother and homemaker, Anne shared her love of making wonderful meals with fresh garden produce with her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, laughing, home grown carrots, her fragrant rugosa rose bushes and chocolate. After her children were grown, she worked at Dayton's and Weight Watchers and greatly enjoyed talking and connecting with people. Her deep faith gave her strength and she found comfort in her daily prayers.

Anne is survived by her husband, Gerald; and three children, Christine Eastman of St. Paul, Marge Tucker of Norwell, Mass., and Timothy Eastman of Oak Park, Ill. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and her brother, Frank Hayft of Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in support of Alzheimer's research.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Rochester, with Rev. Msgr. Gerald Mahon officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.
