Clifford Allen Tibor, 87, died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha.
Clifford was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Wabasha to Clarence and Marcella (Kennebeck) Tibor. He attended school in Kellogg. Clifford enlisted in the United States Air Force in April 1953, serving until his discharge in 1973.
On May 1, 1954, he married Nancy Deming at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview. Following his discharge in 1973, they lived in Grand Forks, N.D., and Clifford worked as an auto mechanic. He retired in 1991 and they moved to Red Wing and then later settled in Rochester.
Clifford was a member of the Rochester American Legion Post #92 and the Plainview VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, following the Minnesota Vikings and Twins and loved country music.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Rochester; four daughters, Debra and Cheryl Tibor of Connecticut, Christine (Dave) Burns of Las Vegas, and Lesley (Luke) Shockman of Rochester; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, LaVonne (Dick) Ozmun of Tennessee and RoJean (Gene) Becker of Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald; four brothers, Richard, Edward, Ronald and James; and one sister, Alice.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Plainview American Legion. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
