David Michael Petersdorf passed away during a trip through Missouri.
David was born on Dec. 13, 1946, to Robert and LaVonne (Blagsvedt) Petersdorf. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1965 and went on to work for the Painter’s Union, holding several different positions during his long career.
In 1970, David married Joyce Payne; they were later divorced. After leaving the Painter’s Union, David owned and operated several taverns, one located in Backus, Minn., and the other in Leroy.
David enjoyed spending time with his daughter and her family, and he was a proud grandfather. David thoroughly enjoyed being on the road, on his motorcycle in his younger years, and in his RV later in life. David made many friends along the way and was often known to say, “I’ll be there when I get there.”
David was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diana. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Haack (Neal Jensen); grandchildren, Josie, Ryan and Luke; brother, Terry of Missouri; sisters, Sherry Noser and Denise (Rusty) Clark of Rochester; nieces, Mesa and Kaley; and nephews, Shawn and Tyler.
A private memorial will be held for family.
