Donald Richard Kingsley passed away on Sept. 27, 2019, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester.

Donald Richard Kingsley was born to Roy and Clara Kingsley on Feb. 2, 1928. He was very proud to have lived to be 91 and only wanted to beat his brother, Rob. Actually, it was a tie. He was one of eight children and had survived all of his siblings. He grew up in the Money Creek area and married Rita Ellringer in Elba on May 2, 1950. They lived their married life in St. Charles/Elba and Rochester. Donald worked at various jobs and became self employed later in life. He has resided at Cottagewood for about four years and was popular with the staff and other residents due to his teasing manner.

Don loved his weekly happy hours on Friday evenings with his children and grandchildren and sometimes other friends would also join them. Family time was very special to him.

Don is survived by his children, Donna (Jim) of Florence, Ariz., Rick (Janice) of Byron, Dan (Lynn) of St. Charles, Roy (Stefanie) of Mendota Heights, and Deb (the late Brian) Mueske of Rochester. He has nine grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Travis, Dustin, Stacy, Nicholas and Caroline and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita, along with his two brothers and five sisters and his parents.

The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and Cottagewood for making him comfortable in his last weeks of life.

A memorial will be Saturday, Oct. 19 at Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester. The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. and a lunch after the service.
