Gerald Harry Heintz, 77, of Hokah-Caledonia, passed away June 10, 2019, at Mayo Health System in La Crosse, Wis.

He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Caledonia, to Lloyd and Mildred (Guillaume) Heintz. He married Margaret Ann Senn on Nov. 17, 1962, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah.

Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He always had a smile and laugh that made the world a better place. He loved his wife and his children. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was very happy to give you an update on their lives.

Jerry worked at IBM in Rochester and Boca Raton, Fla., for 30 years and retired at age 50. He drove semis for a few years with USPS and Truss Specialists. He was woodcarver and created many wonderful heirlooms for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maggie; mother-in-law, Ardelle Schaffer; his children, Teri (Chris) Edwards, Tim (Ann) Heintz, and Tony (special friend, Joan Kaartinen) Heintz; brother, Donald (Mary Lou) Heintz; grandchildren, Justin Duvall, Luke (Jessica) Duvall, Cody Duvall, Jordan (Josh) Salman, Shelby (Travis) Hersleff, Dalton Heintz, Logan Heintz, Shane Moe, Travis (Colleen) Moe, Alyssa (Jamal) Edwards and Christopher Edwards; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Navy Mae, Macklin, William, and Phe; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and special buddies, Chuck, Mike, Nick, and Jim.

Jerry was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, his daughter-in-law, Sherry Heintz, and grandson, Dustin Moe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah. Father Stephen Abaukaka will officiate. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the church as well as from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 15. In lieu of flowers, memorials to cancer research are preferred.
