Glenna Marie Vikse, age 84, of Spring Valley, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Ostrander Care and Rehab after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born June 10, 1934, in Grand Meadow, where she attended and graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1952. On Aug. 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to Darrell Vikse at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Racine. Glenna was a homemaker and raised six children on the family farm; she then taught Head Start for 17 years before retiring. She loved to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events — she was even able to attend some of her great-grandchildren’s events. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of WELCA. She loved to visit with shut-ins and people in nursing homes.

Glenna enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, and spending time with family. She was very proud of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.
