Jeffrey Bryce Livingston, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016, of respiratory failure at Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, S.D.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. He was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Berlin Wis., to Betty (Johnson) and Richard Livingston. His family moved to St. Cloud, Minn., where he attended and graduated from St. Cloud Tech in 1964. He was honored to represent his golf team in the state championship that year.
Jeff attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. where he met Jorgina Scherz, who became his wife on March 9, 1968. They lived in the Minnesota communities of Brownton, Hutchinson and Rochester and raised three children. Jeff was employed for several years by Telex, working his way up to eventually becoming regional sales manager. He later went to work for American Hearing Aid Associates as a consultant until his retirement. Jeff and Jorgie were married until her death in January 2006.
On Nov. 30, 2007, Jeff married Chris Johnson. They moved to the Black Hills, S.D., to retire but eventually became co-owners of Cousin's Big Chair Pizza, where he hosted guests and regaled them with his talent of storytelling and sharp wit.
Jeff loved to socialize, and his gift was putting people at ease. He accomplished this through his infectious laugh, epic Ole and Lena jokes, groan-worthy puns and a listening ear. He will be dearly missed.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Chris Livingston, of Deadwood, S.D.; children, Kristine (Saleh) Livingston-Alzarqa, of Fairfax, Va., Lara Livingston-VanDanacker, of Minneapolis, David Livingston, of Lead, S.D., and stepdaughter, Erika (Hobby) Thomas, of Deadwood; grandchildren, Rakan, Rayan and Kenan Alzarqa, Bridget and Kaiden VanDanacker and Avery Turner; a brother, Gary (Ione) Livingston, of Oakdale, Minn.; and nieces and nephews, Rick and Stacie Livingston, Stephanie Scherz Michaud and Jason Scherz.
