Lillian Froisland, age 92, of Zumbrota, died on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Zumbrota Care Center surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Rev. Dr. Marggi Pleiss-Sippola officiating. Inurnment will be in United Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Lillian Sather was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Hartland Township, Pierce County, Wis., to George and Ella (née Haugen) Sather. Lillian grew up on the family farm and attended country school.

On Nov. 27, 1948, Lillian married Norman L. Froisland at Esdaile Lutheran Church in Hartland, Wis. Lillian worked at the Red Wing Shoe Co. while Norman was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Lillian joined Norman at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah, Ga., and after his honorable discharge, they moved back to the Red Wing area. In the late 1950s, they moved to Zumbrota.

Lillian enjoyed being outdoors, mowing the yard and maintaining her flower beds, reading, doing puzzles, hosting and attending neighborhood coffee parties and spending time with grandchildren and family.

Lillian was an active member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church and Stary-Yerka VFW Post #5727 Auxiliary.

Lillian is survived by her children, Gail Berg of Zumbrota, Michael Froisland of Owatonna and Wayne (Angie) Froisland of Rochester; ten grandchildren, Nicole, Cory, Chelsey, Heather, Heidi, David, Danica, Dustin, Megan and Stephanie; 25 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Gisslen of Zumbrota.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, George and Ella; sisters, Elaine Anderson, Dorothy Dahl, Alice Kufuss and Marci Carlson; and son-in-law, Lonnie Berg.

Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
