Malcolm Edward Goodman, 95, of Rochester, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Rochester Health Services East.
Mr. Goodman was born in Preston on Sept. 6, 1924, to Fred and Amanda (Thompson) Goodman in Fillmore County. He attended school in Fountain and Preston prior to entering the Army in 1944. He served in the South Pacific and remained on active duty until 1947. Upon leaving the Army he worked in Rochester until he retired in 1980.
He is survived by Edna Goodman; his sister-in-law; and his two nephews, Reece Goodman of Montgomery, Texas, and Brett Goodman of Austin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his brother, William Fred Goodman.
A memorial gathering will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. A brief prayer service will start at 3 p.m. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 92 following the prayer service.
Memorials are preferred to Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester or the American Legion.
