Mary JoAnn Martin, 53, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019. Mary was born Oct. 28, 1966, and adopted by James and Helen McDougall of Dover on Dec. 15, 1966. She was joined by a brother, William Frederick on Dec. 13, 1967. They grew up on the family farm with cats, dogs, calves, sheep and her horse, Taco, swimming, camping, and fishing with the Dover kids in the farm pond. She enjoyed playing pool and card games.
Mary graduated from Dover-Eyota High school in 1985. On Aug. 2, 1986, Mary and Jon Martin were married at our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eyota. They lived in various places in the area until moving to Fountain City, Wis., where Mary owned and operated Mary Moe's Bar in Bluff Siding. In 1996, Mary was reconnected with her birth mother, Sandra Johnson. Jon and Mary were later divorced.
Mary is survived by children, Carrie Milkent and James Martin of Fountain City; grandchildren, Calen, Nathan, Avery, Lillian and Farah; mother and stepfather, Helen and Carlos Pierce of St. Charles; brother, Fred McDougall of La Crosse, Wis.; birth mother, Sandra Johnson of Milaca; half-brother, Patrick Jackson; half-sister, Kelly Wagman; ex-husband, Jon Martin of Fountain City; former mother-in-law, Joyce Martin and family of Dover; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, James McDougall, in 1985; stepfather, Harold Ellinghuysen, in 2000; grandparents; son-in-law, Adam Milkent, in 2018; father-in-law, Jack Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are all Mary's dear relatives and many friends who will always carry her memory in their hearts and minds.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 with visitation starting at 9 a.m. at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Burial will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Dover.

Pearl L. (Moger) Bue, 93, passed away Nov. 25, 2019, at Chosen Valley Care Center, Chatfield. She attended grade school at rural Gribben Valley and graduated from Preston High School in 1943. On July 17, 1943, she married Odell A. Bue at Rev. Nestande's parsonage in Lanesboro. They lived briefly in Bagley, before settling in Lanesboro, where they raised two children, Wesley and Mary. They eventually moved to Chatfield, where Odell built their home.Â
Pearl was a warm, caring woman. She was a homemaker and creator of the most wonderful embroidered and knitted projects. She loved to garden and care for her houseplants. But most of all, she loved her family and friends and put them first in her life.
Pearl is survived by her children, Wesley (Denise Eng-Bue) Bue, and Mary (Peter) Lewis; siblings, Eva (Arden) Tuftin, Delores (Steve) Glynn and Lavern (Ramona) Moger; grandchildren, Tony (Santina), Zack and Jason (April) Johnson, Sarah (Steve) Janssen, Beck Eng-Bue and Cevdet (Elif) Cingi; great-grandchildren, Gabe, Ali and Owen Janssen; Alex, Spencer, Cameron and Andrew Johnson; and Kyle Cingi.
Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Odell; parents, Peter and Christina; brothers, Harold and Clifford Moger; grandchildren, Karen Johnson and Matthew Bue.
A Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Chatfield Lutheran Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Docken and Nissa Peterson. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery following the service.

Robert Prasert Wolter, age 45, of Aurora, Ill., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.
He was born on June 13, 1974, in Bangkok, Thailand. He traveled around the world during his youth as a military kid.
Robert graduated from Bonneville High School in Ogden, Utah, in 1992, and then followed his family to Rochester. He graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in physical education and athletic coaching.
Enjoying all things "sports," he excelled in track and field as a decathlete and in volleyball, but enjoyed playing and competing in any activity. He can be credited for hitting a hole in one in golf and for bowling a perfect 300 game.
His love of volleyball began his successful coaching career. From Minnesota to South Dakota to Wisconsin to New York, he was involved with various high school, club and junior national and collegiate programs. His career culminated at Aurora University as the founding head men's volleyball coach.
Robert was a devout husband and father. He was an active dad and loved watching, coaching and playing sports with his kids. As a couple, Rob and his wife enjoyed playing volleyball together in their early years and liked to travel, workout and spend time as a family in the later years.
Robert was loved and respected by many people and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nichole (nee Roethig) Wolter; sons, Isaiah Wolter and Miles Wolter; parents, Michael and Chaba (nee Sakorn) Wolter; sisters, Chulee (Chris) Pearson and Jume (John) Wolter; nieces, aunts, uncles, friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orval and Mary Wolter.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, Ill. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 701 S. Eola Road, Aurora. Interment private.

Voeun Sor, 84, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.
Voeun was born on Oct. 6, 1935 in Battambang, Cambodia. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1984 and since made Rochester her home.
Voeun loved being a homemaker, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and volunteering her time at the Buddhist temple.
She is survived by her daughters, Korng Son (Chet Chhim), Thea Koeuk, and Pauline Son of Rochester; sons Mao Son (Bridge City, Texas), San Son (Cheko) of New Prague, Minn., and Sal Son of Rochester; grandchildren Phirith and Phirum Pheak, Chaliena and Jesse Chhim, Kalina (Aaron) Benson, Sytha Hammes, Christopher (Lauren) and Alexus Mao, Chanlee, Shadow, and Ohanzee Son, Kenny and Keanu Mey, and Sebastian and Kailan Son; and great-granchildren Taryn, Teghan, Emerie, and Amelia Benson and Savannah and Sydney Hammes.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Buddhist ceremonies honoring the life of Voeun will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Buddhist Support Society.
Donald W. Hanson, 68, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
Visitation with public viewing will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Sheckler Colonial Chapel and will continue one hour prior to Don's service Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, memorials may be left in Don's name with the Iowa Donor Network or NephCure Kidney International.
The son of William and Ruth (Pinneke) Hanson, Donald William Hanson was born on Oct. 23, 1951, in Mason City, the oldest of three children. His early years were spent on the family farm outside of St. Ansgar where he attended St. Ansgar High School, graduating in 1970.
On March 28, 1971, Don was united in marriage to Marjorie Brinkman at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greene; together they would be blessed with three children, Andrea, Michael, and Kristin.
For 23 years Don was the owner/operator of Don Hanson Trucking where he oversaw a fleet of seven trucks, driving countless routes throughout the years.
In his free time Don loved spending time with his grandchildren, camping, fishing and adding to his car collection.
Those grateful for sharing in Don's life are his wife, Marjorie, Nora Springs; children, Andrea (Todd) Campbell, Mason City, Michael (Heather) Hanson, Stewartville, and Kristin (JR) Ott, Rockford; grandchildren, Brendon (Mara), Kallie, McKenna, Zachary, Natasha, Jaxson, Eian, and Izabella; great-grandchildren, Kenli, Harper, and Leo; father- and mother-in-law, Clarence and Violet, Brinkman, Greene; siblings, Debra (John) Slaichert and James Hanson; aunt, Shirley (Dennis) Lind; his beloved four legged companion, Cinnamon; as well as extended members of the Clarence and Violet Brinkman family and many friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Karson Ott; and sisters-in-law Barb Williams and Dixie Brinkman.
Don's family would like to thank Dr. Congello, Dr. Johnston, Jennifer McCambridge, the nurses, and staff of MercyOne North Iowa for the exceptional care given to Don and for tolerating his humorous behavior throughout his time spent at MercyOne and Mayo Clinic.
