It is with great sadness that the family of Phy Choun announces her passing at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at the age of 99. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family members.
Phy was born and raised in Battambang, Cambodia. She then married Soun Ros and conceived four beautiful children. Phy was a very respected individual. She was an extraordinary woman who loved and cared for her family with all her heart. She will be dearly missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
Phy was cherished and remembered by her daughter, Chhorm Ros; her sons, Steven Kosal Soun and Thoeun Moth; as well as her daughter-in-law, Ly Choun; and her grandchildren, Khao Sorn Ruos, Khao Soen Ruos, Khao San Ruos, Buri Ruos, and Meatika Ruos; also, her great-grandchildren, Neko Oem Ruos, Liliana Estephania Soto, Tarea Soriya Ruos, Kevin Soto, Rayden Milleon Dos, Kaiden Matthew Sin, Jaden Thalia Sin, and Tyden Michael Sin. She also leaves behind seven other grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who all are in Cambodia.
Buddhist funeral services for Phy will be held throughout the week with a formal visitation at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. A service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Rochester Buddhist Support Society Temple. At 3:30 p.m. Phy will be escorted to the Macken Funeral Home Crematory in Rochester, where she will be cremated immediately. Lastly, there will be a Final Temple Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Rochester Buddhist Support Society Temple, 4462 29th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904. All are welcome.
