Roger Harold Brinkman, 77, of Lake City, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018.

Roger was born on Nov. 9, 1940, in Lake City, to Ray and Irma (Krause) Brinkman. He grew up on the family’s dairy farm and continued working there, throughout his life.

He graduated from Lincoln High School and was later united in marriage to Nancy Moyer on Aug. 26, 1961, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. Together they raised their children and ran the family farm.

Roger continued helping until the very end in whatever way he could. Roger was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going for rides, checking the crops, going to his family’s cabin in northern Wisconsin, spending time with his family, and being with his best friend and dog, Hemi.

Roger is survived by his children, Shari (Larry) Witt, Dawn (Andy) Rolph, and Alan (Kari) Brinkman, all of Lake City; grandchildren, Travis (Alyssa) Rolph, Tyler (Leslie) Rolph, Ashley and Jordan Brinkman; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Addisyn, Parker, Cole, Gracie, Henry Rolph and one on the way; sister, Loa (Duane) Baker of Lake City; brother, Joe (Faye) Brinkman of Lake City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Nathan Cordes officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, and for one hour prior to the service Friday at church. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
