Roger Robert Staloch, 85, of Eyota, passed away peacefully at home Friday, Nov. 22, 2019. Born in Eyota on Sept. 5, 1934, to Daniel and Nora (Krenzke) Staloch, Roger graduated from Eyota High School. On Jan. 29, 1955, he married Barbara Ann Baumbach at Holy Redeemer Church in Eyota. Roger and Barb resided in Eyota their entire married lives.

Roger began a career as a baker at Elshoff's Drive-In at the age of 17. He then moved on to Barlow's and HyVee as a baker until his retirement.

Roger enjoyed odd jobs, tinkering around the house. He loved to travel. Camping was his passion. Roger was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota and the St. Charles Moose Lodge, where he enjoyed visiting and making new friends.

Lovingly survived by his significant other, Gail Rasmussen; daughter, Karen Curtis of Elgin (her special friend, Dean Friedrich of Gilbert, Ariz.); son, Timothy Staloch of Elgin; grandchildren, Jessica, Abbigail and Rose; a daughter, Sue (Tom) Kramer of Rochester; and sons, Kevin of Oronoco and Vincent of Owatonna; and five additional grandchildren, Kyle, Payne, Lauren, Kristina and Tony; and great-grandchildren; brothers, Roland of Douglas, and Danny of Stewartville; sisters, Jeanette Ross of Plainview, Rita Alvarez of California and Mary Nisbit of Rushford.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 1999; parents, two sons, three brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota with the Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles and hour before services Saturday at the church.
