Ronald B. "Ron" Eidem, 79, of Kasson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester, Saint Marys Campus, with his loving wife by his side.

Ron was born on April 1, 1940, to Adeline (Strain) and Burton Eidem, in Salem Corners. He grew up around Salem Corners and Byron.

On May 14, 1960, Ron married his one true love, Bonnie Eidem (Mielke). Ron and Bonnie shared 59 years of love and happiness together. They lived in Kasson, where they raised two sons, Lamar (Cathy) Eidem and Todd (Lori) Eidem, all of Rochester.

Ron worked for Waters Conley Co. and Mayo Clinic. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson, where he faithfully served for many years. He loved to help with the annual lutefisk dinner and was a huge help in the making of the lefse. He also enjoyed going to East St. Olaf Church to help and enjoyed visiting with members of their congregation during their lutefisk supper.

When he was younger, Ron loved to hunt, fish, and snowmobile. He also loved to work, and he enjoyed fixing and building things in his shop. Ron was a very handy man -- a skill he passed on to both of his sons. He was a devoted family man and loved to spend time with his family and his friends.

Ron is survived by his wife and sons; four grandchildren, Morgan (Blake) Temp, Brandon Eidem and Nicole and Amanda Eidem; great-granddaughter, Briella Temp; his mother, Adeline Molde; brothers, Dale (JoAnn) Eidem, Roger Eidem (Jackie Biester), and Edwin Eidem; sisters, Beverly (Dave) Kirkeeng, Donna (Mike) Holloran, Judy (Gary) Thorson, Marie (Gary) Hansen, and Deanna (Steve) Koening; sister-in-law, Julie (Don Diericks) Eidem; two stepsisters, Geraldine Fuchs and Bonnie Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather; his sisters, Rosemary (Derri) Schmidt and Marie Eidem; his brother, Gerald; and his grandparents, Charlie and Emma Strain, and Peder and Maytie Eidem.

Blessed be his memory.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 301 Eighth Ave. NW, Kasson, with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, also at the church.
