Stanley V. Kolbe, 99, of Zumbrota, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019. He was born April 23, 1920, in Oronoco Township to Vaughn and Grace (Sibley) Kolbe. He was also raised in Oronoco attending school in the area through 8th grade.

Stanley married Lucille Lockman on Dec. 5, 1955. They started farming on their own in 1957, while raising their family in Oronoco, until moving to Zumbrota in 1985.

Stanley loved fishing, going to the cabin Up North, gardening and playing various games, especially dominoes and jigsaw puzzles. As a younger man, he got his feet wet in the farming business and also worked as a carpenter. Stanley was known to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Stanley is survived by four children, Larry Kreutz of Cokato, Richard (Kathie) Kreutz of Byron, Karen (Jeff) Peterson of Byron, and Maurice (Heidi) Kolbe of Wanamingo; grandchildren, Dallas, Jason, Justin, Jeremy, Jake, Rebecca, Leah and Cameron; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marie Hildestad and Rachel Nagele.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; grandson, Matthew Peterson; and his sister, Wanda Rucker.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel, in Zumbrota, with Rev. Beth Perez officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences are welcome and may be written at mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
