Terry J. Cowden, 45, of Pleasant Grove, passed away, with his family by his side, on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, from complications of a stroke, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester — Saint Marys Campus, where he had been a patient for one day.

Terry Jay Cowden was born on May 25, 1973, in Eyota, to Ronald and Phyliss (Stucky) Cowden. He moved to Pleasant Grove when he was just a baby and has lived there for the rest of his life. Terry attended Stewartville Public Schools and it was there where he met the love of his life, Lisa Nord. Together, they have continued to live in Pleasant Grove, where they raised their two children, Danielle and Tyler.

Terry was a brick mason in construction in the area for many years and worked part-time in lawn care and snow removal. He had recently started TC Snow Removal with his daughter, Danielle. His family and friends called him a “Jack of all trades” because of his vast knowledge in so many fields of work. Terry was a family man and brought joy to every person he came across during his life. He was the guy that would give you the shirt off his back and made everyone feel like they were a part of his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Bass Camp on the Mississippi River, especially with his daughter, Danielle. Terry recently became a grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Colton, whenever he had the chance.

Terry is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart of 32 years, Lisa Nord; his daughter, Danielle Nord (Caleb Conger), and grandson, Colton, of Millville; his son, Tyler Cowden of Rochester; two brothers, Jeff (Peggy) Cowden of Stewartville, and Ricky Cowden of Wadena, Minn.; two nieces, Kathleen and Hannah; three nephews, Bobby, Joshua, and Joey; stepfather, Wilmer Fieseler of Eyota; six stepbrothers, Stan, Gene, Mark, Larry, Bill, and Kevin Fieseler. Terry also was considered a father and grandfather figure to many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyliss (Cowden) Fieseler; his father, Ronald Cowden; brother, Allen Cowden; uncle, Daniel Stucky; and grandparents, Ross and Elsie (Chapman) Stucky.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home, Stewartville. A spring burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.

Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home, Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Terry are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com.
