Voeun Sor, 84, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.

Voeun was born on Oct. 6, 1935 in Battambang, Cambodia. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1984 and since made Rochester her home.

Voeun loved being a homemaker, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and volunteering her time at the Buddhist temple.

She is survived by her daughters, Korng Son (Chet Chhim), Thea Koeuk, and Pauline Son of Rochester; sons Mao Son (Bridge City, Texas), San Son (Cheko) of New Prague, Minn., and Sal Son of Rochester; grandchildren Phirith and Phirum Pheak, Chaliena and Jesse Chhim, Kalina (Aaron) Benson, Sytha Hammes, Christopher (Lauren) and Alexus Mao, Chanlee, Shadow, and Ohanzee Son, Kenny and Keanu Mey, and Sebastian and Kailan Son; and great-granchildren Taryn, Teghan, Emerie, and Amelia Benson and Savannah and Sydney Hammes.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Buddhist ceremonies honoring the life of Voeun will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Buddhist Support Society.
