Wayne Rodney Allore, 75, of Austin, died Friday morning, Nov. 18, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
He was born July 7, 1936, to Edward T. and Lela Hope (Roush) Allore in Austin. He lived in Austin his entire life, graduating from Austin Pacelli High School in 1955. He worked at the Hormel Company; as a General Manager at the Mower County Shopper; and as a self-employed master craftsman. Wayne married Beverly Arndt in 1959. They had two sons, and were later divorced. On March 20, 1985, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hillberg in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Wayne enjoyed fishing, traveling, antiquing, watching the Twins and the Vikings, and was a historian. He especially enjoyed woodworking. He made furniture and toy chests for his grandchildren, and he refinished furniture. Wayne also catered and cooked for organizations in Austin, particularly the Salvation Army and the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Austin; sons, Eric (Kim) Allore and Lance (Linda) Allore, both of North Mankato; step-children, Sherri Erickson, Larry Erickson, George (Kimberly) Hillberg and Lon Hillberg, all of Austin, and Sara Hillberg of St. Paul; seven grandchildren, Mitch Allore, Gus Allore, Ben Allore, Guy Allore, Mark Erickson, Dominic Hillberg and Stephanie Erickson; great-grandchild, Lillian Lang Erickson; sisters, Bonnie Smith of Sylmar, Calif., and Lois King of Austin; brother, Gene Allore of Sylmar; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lela; step-son, Mark Hillberg; and sisters, Robella and Betty.

Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with Pastor Marilee Benson and Pastor Shari Mason officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Military rites by American Legion Post 91 and V.F.W. Post 1216.
The family prefers memorials to the First United Methodist Church.
